The Lexington La-Ray students repaired and rebuilt the donated truck; they did a terrific job restoring it!

This beautifully restored truck will be auctioned on April 9, 2014, at the Insurance Auto Auctions at 2663 S 88th St, Kansas City, KS 66111.  All proceeds from the sale of the AMR-donated truck will be donated to the Lexington La-Ray Technical Center to help fund future projects.

Advantage Metals Recycling is very proud to be part of this community. AMR’s culture and philosophy revolves around being good neighbors in and giving back to the communities in which we do business.  Advantage Metals Recycling is Kansas and Missouri’s largest scrap recycler, with 16 locations. AMR’s Higginsville facility offers a wide variety of pre-owned vehicles and used truck and auto parts.  Most of the salvage truck and auto parts are off the vehicles and stored in AMR’s warehouse. The Higginsville recycling center also buys common household ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal items like appliances, gutters, sheet metal, automobiles, aluminum cans and other aluminum, copper and brass products.

AMR is wholly owned by The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), a subsidiary of Nucor Corporation. Founded in 1885, The David Joseph Company is one of the largest scrap brokers/processors in the United States.  Nucor and affiliates are manufacturers of steel products, with operating facilities primarily in the U.S. and Canada.
